Coverage, ordering and returns
Braces sit in the Medicare DME benefit, which means a written order, a coverage check and a patient share. Here is how each of those actually works, and what it costs if you skip insurance altogether.
A written order is needed for insurance
Medicare and most plans require a physician's order before a brace can be billed. We contact your doctor's office for it — you don't have to chase the paperwork. Private-pay orders need no prescription.
Part B pays 80%, you owe 20%
Off-the-shelf orthoses fall under the Medicare Part B DME benefit. We verify your benefits, confirm whether your deductible is met, and quote your exact share before the order is placed.
Prior authorisation when required
Some braces and some Medicare Advantage plans require authorisation before delivery. Our specialists submit it and track the decision; we don't ship and hope.
Ships within 2 business days
Stocked items ordered before 1:00pm CT ship the same business day. A tracking email goes out on dispatch, and orders over $500 ship signature-required.
Local delivery and in-person fitting
Within 30 miles of Downers Grove we deliver for $25 under 30 lbs and $50 over. Or book the fitting room and we size and adjust the brace on you.
30 days on unworn braces
Unworn, unwashed braces in original packaging can be returned within 30 days with an RMA number. For hygiene reasons, worn compression garments and any brace with skin contact after use cannot be returned.
States we ship to
Thirty-two states by ground freight. Orders placed before 1:00pm CT ship the same day where stock allows; local delivery is available within 30 miles of Downers Grove.
Accepted plans
We bill these directly. If yours isn't listed, we can still supply the brace on a private-pay basis and give you an itemised receipt to claim yourself.
